Augustus Ge

Augustus "Augie" Ge might be the brainiest player on the PPA Tour, and he's got the resume to prove it. The left-handed Phoenix native holds a Master's degree in biostatistics, scored a perfect 800 on the SAT math section, and was working in data science for a pharmaceutical company until getting laid off in November 2023. Rather than scrambling for another desk job, Ge decided to go all-in on professional pickleball, a sport he'd first played casually back in middle school. He reconnected with the game after training with pros like Nico Montoya and his friends Hunter and Yates Johnson, and his analytical mind gave him a unique edge in breaking down the game.

Ge burst onto the scene at the Veolia Desert Ridge Open with a semifinal run and a mixed doubles medal alongside Tyra Black, and he hasn't slowed down since. He was drafted to the Premier level in MLP, joining the Dallas Flash, where he helped the team compete for the National Championship. Sponsored by Proton, the lefty plays primarily on the right side in doubles, where his southpaw angles create nightmares for opponents. He played D1 tennis at the University of Arizona and University of New Mexico before finding his true calling with a paddle. With 60+ pro tournaments under his belt and a reputation as one of the smartest competitors in the game, Augie Ge is the rare player who can calculate the geometry of a passing shot while executing it.
